Leading in our division
- Be kind to your people but demanding of your leaders.
- Part of our role is to create the future – sustain the company – ensure we survive.
- But to do this we can’t expect everyone to want to give all to the job or company.
- Many people see work as a means to other things – they come on time – work hard – earn their money + they leave on time. They have other priorities. That’s great. Respect to that.
But if you become a leader my expectations change
- you have accepted a responsibility
- you have joined our elite team
- you now have to perform at new level
- if our standards slip – our organization slips
- if we don’t progress then competition will
- if we fall behind and others catch up then we are in danger
- if we are in danger then the guy that comes in each day – works hard – is in danger
- Our job is never to place our good guys in danger.
